Shorter Form of Editor Password Accepted at Login

Problem

Your editor password is longer than eight characters but you can successfully login to DMOZ using only the first eight characters.

Solution

This is simply a feature of the operating system DMOZ runs on -- passwords have a maximum length of eight characters. So, when loging-in you can safely use only the first eight characters of your password. However, when you edit your profile you must use your full password.
